Parking and Directions

Downtown has many options to fit your parking needs. No matter where you park, you’re just a block or two away from your next stop.  It’s as simple as parking in the city parking garage where you can enjoy the open air while walking to your nearby destination. Of course, you can find a parking space that is practically in front of your destination on Main Street or St. Joseph.

The Parking Garage

The city parking garage has 560 spaces and is adjacent to Main Street Square. During the business day hours (Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm), there is public metered parking on the first level of the parking ramp. Parking costs only $0.50 per hour. If you are parking after 4pm on Monday-Friday, on the weekend or on holidays, all floors of the parking ramp are open and parking is FREE! 

Off-Street Parking

There is off-street parking on Main, St. Joseph and many side streets available every day for FREE. These spots do have a time limit of 2 hours on Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm, so those who plan on being downtown for more than a quick errand, we recommend you park in the metered parking available in parking garage, or on several other metered spots off-street.

Other Parking

Other parking available includes a lot at 8th and Main Street where parking is free after 5 p.m. each weekday and on weekend and a lot at 6th and St. Joseph. Just north of Downtown, there is parking at Memorial Park and Pond and at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
