DOWNTOWN RAPID CITY, SD - Upon request from the Rapid City Downtown Business Group, the City of Rapid City approved a special event permit for free motorcycle parking in Downtown Rapid City from Friday, Aug. 4, through Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017.

The permit includes free motorcycle parking in all Downtown public spaces on the street with an hourly time limit or meter, including the metered spaces in the parking ramp near Main Street Square. The permit does not include free motorcycle parking in any leased parking spaces downtown. In addition, individual businesses have arranged for designated motorcycle-only parking Downtown during The Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™.

“Downtown Rapid City would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors during the 77th Annual Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™ by providing free motorcycle parking throughout the week,” said Dan Senftner, president and CEO of Destination Rapid City. “We hope they spend time Downtown during a relaxing meal with stellar service at one of our many restaurants, browsing the locally owned stores and galleries that line our streets, and making life-long memories at the many free events and happenings.”

Little Texas, three-time Grammy-nominated country rock superstars, will play a free Rally Special Edition Concert as part of Main Street Square’s Concert Series from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10. Forgotten Highway will open the show. Crash Wagon, a country band from Rapid City, will play on the Summer Nights stage, located at Seventh and St. Joseph streets.
