Tree arrives at Main Street Square

DOWNTOWN RAPID CITY, SD – A blue spruce tree estimated to measure approximately 30 feet will arrive at Main Street Square on Wednesday, Nov. 15, between 9 and 10 a.m.

The tree has been donated from the Canyon Lake Senior Center. A final measurement will be taken after the tree is removed. The blue spruce will be cut down, transported and trimmed by Baker Timber, of Rapid City. The Rapid City Police Department will provide a safety escort to Main Street Square. The tree will be craned into the Square by D&W Crane, of Rapid City.

A lighting ceremony with Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender will be held at Main Street Square’s Holiday Celebration and Winter Market promptly at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25. The Holiday Celebration and Winter Market sponsored by US Bank. Progress sponsor, Northwestern Engineering Company.
